Cancellation Options

The five standard DreamHnF cancellation policies and how refunds are handled.

Last Updated: October 4, 2026

Each Host selects one of DreamHnF's available standard cancellation policies for each applicable Listing. The selected policy is shown as part of the Listing and booking terms and governs eligible Guest cancellations for that Booking.

Hosts do not write their own cancellation rules. They choose from the standard policies below. These rules work alongside our Terms and Conditions and the Host Agreement.

Your Booking Keeps Its Policy

The cancellation policy attached to a Confirmed Booking remains the policy that governs that Booking, even if the Host later changes the cancellation policy on the Listing.

A Listing policy change applies only to future Bookings. It does not rewrite the terms of Bookings that are already confirmed.

The Five Standard Policies

Refund windows are measured by the number of days remaining before the scheduled experience start date when the Guest cancels.

How Refunds Are Calculated

  • Refunds are determined by the cancellation policy attached to the Booking.
  • Only amounts eligible for refund under that Booking's transaction terms and policy are returned. Where only a Deposit has been paid, the refund applies to amounts actually paid.
  • Refunds are normally returned to the original payment method through our Payment Provider.
  • Payment-provider and bank processing times vary, so DreamHnF cannot guarantee when a refund will appear on a statement.
  • Mandatory refund rights under applicable law override this policy where they apply.

Refund eligibility for fees, taxes and other transaction amounts may depend on the applicable booking terms, Payment Provider rules and applicable law.

Deposits & Remaining Balances

Hosts may require a Deposit of 30%, 50%, 80% or 100% of the booking total. When less than 100% is collected, the Booking is deposit-paid, not fully paid, until the Remaining Balance is successfully collected on the schedule disclosed at checkout: the day of booking, 24 hours before the trip, or 3 days before the trip.

Paying a Deposit does not by itself make that Deposit refundable. If a Booking is canceled before the Remaining Balance is paid, no further balance payment is due through the normal payment flow unless legally or contractually required. Amounts already paid remain subject to the Booking's cancellation policy.

Pending Booking Requests

Depending on the Listing settings, a Booking may require Host acceptance (manual confirmation) or may be confirmed automatically (Auto-Confirm where enabled). A Booking Request awaiting Host acceptance is not yet a Confirmed Booking.

While a request is pending, the Guest may be able to withdraw it, depending on the booking and payment state shown in their account. If a payment authorization or temporary hold is released, the Guest's bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the release.

Host Cancellations

If a Host cancels a Confirmed Booking, the Guest will be entitled to the refund required under DreamHnF's Host-cancellation rules, applicable transaction terms and applicable law. A Host's selected Guest Cancellation Policy does not allow the Host to retain otherwise refundable Guest funds when the Host is the party canceling the Booking.

Repeated, avoidable, late, abusive or bad-faith Host cancellations may result in listing review, visibility restrictions, booking restrictions, account review, suspension or termination.

Weather, Safety & Emergency Events

Some events can make an experience unsafe, unreasonable or unlawful, for example:

  • A government or authority closure
  • Severe weather creating unsafe conditions
  • Wildfire or other emergency closure
  • Emergency wildlife restrictions
  • A property made inaccessible by an official emergency

We encourage Hosts and Guests to reschedule where appropriate. DreamHnF Support can review unusual circumstances consistent with applicable law and Platform policy; the outcome depends on the facts of each case.

Rescheduling

Guests and Hosts may agree to reschedule where the Listing and booking circumstances permit. Any reschedule remains subject to availability, pricing differences, applicable Host terms and DreamHnF policies.
